Well, my friends, another year just flew by, and I always feel a sense of nostalgia and reflection when a year comes to a close – probably because I’m a sucker for memories and reliving the best moments!

2023 marked our 8th year in business and I realize how long eight years really is when a Facebook memory reminds me that in our first year of business, our oldest son, Jacob, was starting 2nd grade and our youngest, Ryan, was in preschool. Next year, Jacob will be driving on his own – consider that a fair warning! – and Ryan will be starting his last year of middle school at Challenger K-8 – a school we’ve had a child in for 10 years! Life moves so fast.

We’ve had our share of accomplishments and a few setbacks in 2023 at Divinity. We’ve said goodbye to a handful of staff members who’ve been with us for several years and moved on for various reasons. Change is never easy in any business, and it’s always hard to say goodbye. We’ve been so fortunate to bring on new team members who have melted like butter into our practice. They fit perfectly into our work culture, and we truly do feel like we’re closing the year with the strongest team we’ve ever had.

We also lost half of our staff this year. Literally. If you haven’t noticed, with the newest weight loss medication, Semaglutide, our staff has collectively lost 268 pounds! We brought Semaglutide into the practice in January. Having never offered a weight loss option, we were shocked by the interest and the success that our patients have had with this new weight loss drug. It’s been incredibly rewarding for our medical team to help people look and feel better by helping our patients lose hundreds of pounds collectively. There’s nothing like the smile you see on the patient who’s overcome the challenges of being overweight. Coaching and seeing them through their journeys has certainly been one of the highlights of 2023.

As Hernando County grows, we are seeing more and more new faces and our business seems to be growing at the same speed as our little county. While the medspa industry as a whole is down nationwide, according to the makers of Botox, Divinity Medspa was UP in 2023 by 20% again this year compared with last – what a win for our team, patients, and community! We are seeing more and more patients than we ever have before. And, while we love the new faces, we treasure the originals who will always have a special place in our hearts.

Writing this year-end blog always helps me to remember the little joyful moments and the small wins that I tend to forget about or gloss over at year’s end. Thank you for being a part of our journey at Divinity. We are grateful for the opportunity to call you a patient/friend in our practice.
