How Tetra CO2 Works
Tetra CO2 delivers thousands of microscopic columns of laser energy into the skin. Each column (called a microthermal treatment zone or MTZ) vaporizes a tiny channel of tissue from the surface down to the dermis, while leaving surrounding tissue intact. This fractional approach creates controlled injury that triggers intense healing while preserving healthy tissue for faster recovery.
The 10,600nm CO2 wavelength is absorbed by water in skin cells, causing instant vaporization of damaged tissue. The thermal effect also causes immediate collagen contraction (providing instant tightening) and triggers a powerful wound healing cascade. Over the following weeks and months, your body removes damaged collagen and replaces it with fresh, organized collagen matrix.
Treatment begins with thorough cleansing and application of topical numbing cream (45-60 minutes). The laser is passed over treatment areas in a precise pattern, with settings customized to your concerns and goals. Treatment takes 30-60 minutes depending on areas treated. Post-treatment protocol includes healing ointment and strict sun protection.
Immediately after treatment, skin is red and swollen with a "sandpaper" texture. Day 2-4, treated skin bronzes and begins flaking/peeling. By day 5-7, most peeling complete with pink, new skin underneath. Pinkness fades over 2-4 weeks. Initial results visible immediately, with continued improvement for 3-6 months as collagen matures.

Does Tetra CO2 hurt?
We apply topical numbing cream 45-60 minutes before treatment. During treatment, sensation ranges from warming to snapping feeling. Tolerable with numbing.
Afterward, it feels like sunburn for 24-48 hours.
What's the difference between Tetra CO2 and microneedling?
Microneedling: mechanical injury, gentler, minimal downtime, 3-6 treatments needed.
Tetra CO2: laser energy, more aggressive, more downtime, 1 treatment sufficient. CO2 provides more dramatic results for severe concerns.
How many treatments do I need?
Most patients achieve dramatic results with 1 treatment. Severe scarring or deep wrinkles may benefit from 2 treatments spaced 3-4 months apart. Results from a single treatment can last years.
What's the downtime?
5-10 days depending on treatment intensity.
First 3 days: significant redness, swelling, oozing.

Can I combine with other treatments?
