What Is Moxi?

Moxi is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser designed specifically for preventative skin rejuvenation and maintenance. Unlike aggressive resurfacing lasers that vaporize skin, Moxi creates microscopic treatment zones that stimulate collagen production and cellular turnover without surface damage. This "inside-out" approach improves tone, texture, and radiance while preventing future signs of aging - all with minimal downtime.

Moxi is perfect for patients in their 30s-40s who want to be proactive about aging, or for any age seeking gentle improvement without significant recovery. It treats sun damage, uneven tone, fine lines, dullness, and overall skin quality. Most patients require 3 treatments for optimal results, with each treatment building on the previous for progressive improvement. Often called the "baby Fraxel" or "lunchtime laser," Moxi delivers real results without disrupting your life.

At Divinity Med Spa, we've served Spring Hill since 2015 as Hernando County's most trusted medical spa. Our providers are expertly trained in Moxi technology and often combine it with BBL Hero for comprehensive skin rejuvenation that addresses both pigment and texture in a single appointment.

Why Choose Moxi?

Gentle Treatment

Non-ablative technology means no removal of skin's surface. Gentle enough for sensitive skin and safe for most skin types including darker tones.

Glass Skin Effect

Achieve the natural, healthy glow that's become known as "glass skin" - smooth, luminous, and radiant complexion from within.

MINIMAL DOWNTIME

Just 3-5 days of bronzing and light peeling. Most patients return to work the next day and can wear makeup after 24 hours.

Preventative Anti-Aging

Perfect for those in their 30s-40s looking to prevent signs of aging before they appear. Builds collagen reserves for long-term skin health.

What Can Moxi Treat?

Prevent aging before it starts, maintain youthful skin quality, and achieve radiant complexion.

Skin Texture & Pores

Moxi excels at smoothing rough, uneven skin texture and refining enlarged pores. The fractional laser creates micro-injuries that trigger collagen remodeling, resulting in smoother, softer skin with a more refined appearance.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

By stimulating new collagen and elastin production, Moxi helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and early wrinkles. It's particularly effective for preventing new lines from forming.

Active Acne

Dull, Lackluster Skin

Moxi restores radiance to tired, dull skin. The treatment triggers cellular turnover, revealing fresh, healthy skin cells that create a natural, youthful glow that lasts for months.

Mild Pigmentation & Sun Damage

While not as aggressive as BBL for pigmentation, Moxi improves mild hyperpigmentation, uneven tone, and early sun damage by promoting healthy cell turnover and collagen renewal.

Preventative "Prejuvenation"

The best way to fight aging is to prevent it. Moxi is ideal for those in their 30s and 40s looking to maintain skin quality and delay visible signs of aging before they appear.

The Moxi Treatment Experience

Moxi treatments are designed to be comfortable and well-tolerated. Before treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for approximately 45 minutes. This ensures you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.

During Your Treatment:
You'll wear protective eyewear while the Moxi laser handpiece is moved across your skin in multiple passes. You'll feel warmth and a prickling sensation, similar to tiny pinpoints of heat. Most patients find this very tolerable with the numbing cream. The entire treatment takes approximately an hour including numbing time.

Immediately After:
Your skin will appear pink to red with a "bronzed" or darkened appearance. This is the treated skin beginning its renewal process. You may have slight swelling, and your skin will feel warm. These are all normal, expected responses.

The Days Following:
For 3-5 days, you'll have a bronzed appearance with your skin feeling slightly rough or sandpapery. This is the microscopic treated zones healing and exfoliating. Do not pick or scrub. Between days 5-7, the bronzing fades and you'll notice your glow emerging. Over the following weeks, your results continue improving as new collagen develops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Moxi hurt?

Topical numbing applied 45 minutes before treatment. With numbing, most describe sensation as heat and prickling - tolerable.

More comfortable than aggressive resurfacing lasers. Brief discomfort during treatment only.

While most patients don’t find it necessary, ProNox (also known as laughing gas, can be added to your service to help alleviate pain for a small additional charge.

When should I start Moxi treatments?

Moxi designed for prevention, so late 20s-30s ideal to start.

However, beneficial at any age for gentle improvement and maintenance. Never too early to prevent, never too late to improve.

Popular with proactive patients who want to age gracefully.

What's the downtime?

Minimal to none. Immediate redness (like sunburn) for 24-48 hours.

Skin may feel slightly rough or dry for 2-3 days but no visible peeling or crusting. Can wear makeup next day.

Most return to work same day or next day. Very work-friendly.

Will I peel like with chemical peels?

No visible peeling.

Skin may feel slightly rough or "sandpapery" for 2-3 days as microscopic treatment zones heal, but no dramatic flaking or shedding.

Exfoliation happens at cellular level rather than visible surface level.

How many treatments do I need?

Optimal results with 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.

Some see benefit from single treatment, but series provides dramatic cumulative improvement.

Maintenance treatments every 6-12 months preserve results.

Can I combine Moxi with other treatments?

Yes! Combines beautifully with BBL Hero (often same appointment), chemical peels, microneedling, and skincare treatments.

Timing depends on specific combination. Cannot combine with aggressive ablative lasers or treatments requiring significant downtime.

When will I see results?

Subtle improvement after first treatment with progressive enhancement after each session.

Collagen production continues for 3-6 months post-treatment.

Results are gradual and natural-looking rather than dramatic overnight change.

How is Moxi different from microneedling?

Different mechanisms, different benefits.

  • Moxi uses laser energy to create microscopic treatment zones.
  • Microneedling uses needles to create micro-injuries.
  • Both stimulate collagen. Moxi better for tone/pigment, microneedling better for scars.

Often alternated in comprehensive treatment plans.

Can Moxi treat acne scars?

Moxi can provide subtle improvement to superficial acne scars but not ideal as primary scar treatment.

More aggressive treatments (Morpheus8, CO2 laser, deep microneedling) better for significant scarring.

Moxi better for prevention, maintenance, and overall texture improvement.

Is Moxi worth it for prevention?

Absolutely! Preventing damage is easier than correcting it.

Regular Moxi treatments stimulate collagen production before significant aging occurs, keeping skin youthful longer.

Think of it as maintenance for your car - small regular investments prevent major repairs later.
