Biography

Cathy was born and raised in NYC and at a very early the knew she wanted to be a nurse. After graduating from Long Island University in 1979 with a B.S. in Nursing, she moved to Spring Hill, Florida. After 3 years working as an RN, she pursued higher education at USF College of Nursing. At the time, one did not have to graduate, but had to fill all state requirements to practice as an NP and so she received her license and began working as an NP in cardiology and internal medicine in Tampa. It soon became clear that having a degree was going to be mandatory in Florida, so she went back to USF and officially received her M.S. in Nursing in 1993. During the next many years, she started precepting and teaching graduate nursing students while still practicing clinically. Soon another opportunity arose and Cathy went back to school to get her DNP in 2007 at USF. During the next years, several good positions arose for Cathy and she was able to continue her lifelong love of learning and practicing including working in Dermatology. This became her 2nd love behind cardiology and after looking at the physical change between 10 years of a driver’s license photo, she made an abrupt change and decided to go into the aesthetic industry. Since 2015 she has taken every opportunity of educating herself on what the industry has to offer. Included in her repertoire are Laser Hair Removal, CoolSculpting, IPL/BBL, Botox & Fillers, Plasma Pen, Kybella, PDO Threads, MicroNeedling with & without Radio-Frequency.

Cathy feels privileged and humbled to have been able to care for patients for so many years. Her hope is that every one of her patients feel that they were cared for like family. That is why she was thrilled to join the staff at Divinity Med Spa after experiencing that first hand when she came in to help over the summer. Cathy feels that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and special and that is what Divinity is all about!

Some fun facts about Cathy – she has been a DJ, an aerobics instructor and has co-owned a restaurant with her husband of 31 years. She loves animals and has rescued many. Her dog loves to run with her every chance they get and her calico often sits in the front window waiting for them to come back. Cathy will admit she also loves to be on the water and loves to work in the yard.

Nothing is more important to Cathy than her family (2 and 4 legged) and friends. She feels blessed to have an incredible family and wonderful friends. Her belief is that she was called to the service of taking care of people. One of her favorite quotes is from Albert Schweitzer who said, “Don’t let your hearts grow numb. Stay alert. It is your soul which matters.” So she hopes that with each and every guest she meets at Divinity, they know their wellbeing is our priority and goal.

See Cathy at Divinity on Tuesday’s & Friday’s from 9 – 6pm, plus one Saturday per month!
